A handloom saree takes roughly five days on the loom. A power loom produces the same length in under an hour. The difference is visible in the weave, and it is the reason we work the way we do.
Our partners
We buy directly from three weaving cooperatives, two in Tangail and one in Sirajganj. Direct means no intermediary, and a materially larger share of the price reaching the weaver.
Why each piece differs
Hand-woven cloth carries small irregularities in the weave. These are not defects and we do not reject them — they are how you tell handloom from machine work.
Natural dyes
Our natural-dyed range uses indigo, madder root and turmeric. Colours are softer than synthetic dye and will shift very slightly over years. Wash separately in cold water for the first few washes.
What this means for you
Handloom takes longer and costs more. What you get is a piece nobody else has an exact copy of, made by someone we can name.
